Founded in 1913 and reinvented in 2024, the Université de Sudbury provides bilingual and tri-cultural undergraduate programming in Northern Ontario.
Université de Sudbury has a rich history of contributing to the cultural and educational fabric of Ontario’s Francophone community. They are on a mission to serve as a pillar of the Francophone community, providing a welcoming and inclusive environment where students can thrive both academically and personally.
We helped to bring this vision to life by listening to the Francophone student community and amplifying their hearts through Université de Sudbury’s new strategic branding and messaging.
How we helped
The university’s new visual identity is bold and welcoming and puts a modern spin on historical and traditional values. We sought out student input for the initial logo concepts during the “Plan d’avenir” program that took place in the summer of 2024. The new logo was heavily inspired by the large iron bell currently located in the President’s office, which is an enduring symbol of resilience and solidarity of the Sudbury community.
Across the suite of materials, vibrant photography shows off student life and experiences on and off campus. We gathered input from students and staff members throughout the branding process to ensure that the new direction resonated with everyone involved.
Students online
In the short term, our new dynamic, student-centric website for the Université de Sudbury prioritizes ease of access to information, streamlines admissions processes, and fosters engagement with both prospective and current students. The landing page houses everything a prospective student needs to know to apply, including an overview of programs, financial aid information, and registration forms.
By 2026, the website will include a comprehensive map of available academic pathways, tailored to talent availability and university standards, including course selection (with expanded options for years 2-4). We will provide UdeS with a robust content strategy for ongoing updates.
Making a difference
The new website has reduced the number of clicks required to access key information, leading to positive user feedback and enhanced user engagement via analytics (e.g., geo-location and behavior tracking). Ultimately, this redesign will transform the UdeS website into a powerful tool for recruitment, engagement, and institutional growth, leading to increased enrollment and application completion rates.
